Subsurface GPR Scanning GPRS California

Utility Locate Performed
- Buttonwillow, Southern California

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of California was contacted by an engineering firm to locate underground utilities in a vacant lot near Bakersfield, CA. The lot is going developed as a fueling station. The engineering firm was preplanning the station and needed to know what obstructions or utilities were in the area. GPR was used to scan the area to locate utilities. We also use Radio Detection for finding live power and communications signals and connecting to metal pipes and tracer wires. GPRS was able to locate a fire water line, irrigation, communications, conduit, and a sewer line. The pipes were painted on the surface and a scaled drawing was provided.

Ground Penetrating Radar is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits, including PVC pipes and can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating.
