Underground Utility Scan Performed
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of California, San Diego Office, was contacted by an Engineering to perform a sub surface utility location project. The customer was installing new piping, and had to trench as well as directional bore in an area where there were many underground utilities. GPRS was able to locate the utilities that posed an issue with the intended path of the new piping. GPRS, Inc. utilized ground penetrating radar (GPR), as well as radio detection equipment to locate the underground utilities. All findings were marked directly on the surface with paint/utility marking flags.
GPRS also provides complete concrete scanning services in San Diego. Concrete scanning (GPR) can be used to check the concrete slab for all post tension cables and electrical conduits prior to core drilling, as well as installing anchor bolts. During the scanning process, the data is marked directly on the surface with no wait time for processing or developing. Additionally, with GPR (Concrete Scanning) there is no radiation and therefore no need to stop work on the jobsite due to radiation exposure. This will allow our customers to core drill right after the scanning process, and complete the entire project within a single day.
