Ground Penetrating Radar Scan performed to locate rebar and conduit in Moraga, California - Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of Northern California was contacted by a large general contractor to scan 4 core drilling locations prior to installation of new drains at a college in Moraga, CA. The contractor was not allowed to damage rebar during core drilling and especially did not want to drill through one of the numerous electrical conduits that were embedded in the slab. GPRS was able to locate and mark the rebar and conduits onto the surface of the concrete so that the core could be performed without cutting through them. Unlike X-Ray technology, GPR is not limited to a specific size of area at each location. We were able to scan at least a 2’x2’ area at each location so that the contractor would have safe options for drilling.
