Ground Penetrating Radar Scan Performed
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of California was contacted by a Structural Engineer to perform GPR on a CMU retaining wall. GPR was able to determine that rebar was present in the wall and that the wall was fully grouted. GPRS was also able to provide a formal report which was used to take to the city by the Structural engineer showing the results. Also GPR was able to give an approximant size of rebar that was in the wall.
GPR is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits, including PVC pipes and can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating.
