Ground Penetrating Radar Scan Performed At
Playa Del Rey Water Treatment Plant
- Southern California

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of California was contacted to locate underground utilities prior to installing 3 office trailers at a water treatment plant. The trailers were to be installed over utilities that remained in the ground from previous trailers. The contractor wanted to locate these utilities, including water, sewer, phone, and electric so that they could be connected to and to prevent damage during excavations. There were also high pressure oxygen lines running through the center of the area that could be extremely dangerous if damaged. GPRS was able to use ground penetrating radar to see up to 7’ deep underground in this area to locate all of these utilities. These utilities were marked on the surface and a scaled map was provided as a permanent record of their locations.
