GPRS Scan Performed at a Large Post Tension Parking Structure in Los Angeles, California
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. (GPRS) of California was contacted by CS Solutions Inc. to perform a concrete scanning (“x-ray”) in Los Angeles, CA. Concrete scanning was used to check the concrete slab for all post tension cables and electrical conduits prior to core drilling, as well as installing anchor bolts. GSSI GPR equipment was used to locate the post tension cables as well as rebar in every location that was scanned. The data is able to be marked directly on the surface with no wait time for processing or developing. This allowed the customer to core drill right after the scanning process, and complete the entire project in a single day.
Ground Penetrating Radar is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits prior to core drilling, drilling for anchor bolts, or saw cutting. The concrete imaging process is entirely non destructive and free of radiation or health hazards.
