GPR Radar Scan Performed at UTC Mall - San Diego, California
Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of Southern California was contacted by a general contractor in order to scan for rebar, post tension cables, or conduits in a concrete deck prior to coring (1) 8” hole for a new drain location. We scanned one area, approximately 6’X4’, and we marked all findings onto the surface with chalk paint. In the areas scanned, we found that the slab was roughly 7.5” thick, with dense reinforcing throughout the area.
GPR scanning is a great tool to use to locate post tension cables, rebar, and conduits. It can also be used to scan for underground utilities prior to excavating or directional boring. GPRS has offices throughout the entire state of California and performs projects in cities such as; Murrieta, Menifee, Temecula, Escondido, El Cajon, La Mesa, El Centro, Palm Springs, San Diego, North County, Inland Empire, and San Clemente.
