GPRS Locates Rebar In Home Depot Parking Lot
- Los Angeles, California

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. (GPRS) was called to map rebar the in parking lot at a Home Depot so that the client could successfully core between the rebar mattes. Three mattes of rebar were identified in the suspended slab which oversaw a basement level parking garage. Many times when core drilling, it is essential for the client to avoid all rebar and structural reinforcement. In this scenario, GPRS was able to help the client attempt to miss the rebar when they would have otherwise, inevitably hit several bars. Due to the size of the client’s core penetrations and the density of the rebar the client determined that they would have to cut through at least one bar but after GPRS marked out all of the mattes on the surface of the concrete, the client knew exactly what they were up against.
